As a Mercury New Media Account Manager, you will be responsible for providing both strategic and tactical leadership across multiple clients.  You will use your consulting skills, understanding of client businesses and knowledge of web technology to effectively lead a team through the ideation, qualification, strategy, proposal and closing phases of the sales process with existing client relationships.  The ability to effectively solicit information and facilitate its transfer consistently and correctly across the various project communication channels is a key trait of successful Mercury New Media Account Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Overall account management, account growth, and management of cross-functional teams of multiple client accounts to develop solutions that meet the business goals of our clients
  • Develop overall client engagement strategies and work with discipline leads and project teams to execute on plans
  • Manage sales process; including collaborating with Mercury New Media’s solution experts to effectively present solutions that improve a client's business performance and help them achieve their goals
  • Expand contacts with key client executives and maintain strong post-engagement relationships, introducing new opportunities accordingly
  • Manage account profitability by developing and negotiating statements of work, ensuring work is delivered on budget and invoicing clients according to the proper terms
  • Consistently identify needs client may not recognize and ensure that approaches and solutions are linked to objectives and future needs
  • Consistently manage client expectations, ensure delivery of the highest quality service and solicit and act on client feedback
  • Provide proactive support and guidance for ongoing client website and/or web application inquiries and needs
  • Eagerly solve Wicked Problems for clients 

 

Skills Required

  • Strong ability to build and maintain long-standing client relationships
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written skills as well as proven ability to develop well-written documents and presentations
  • Understanding of custom web application development and its potential uses in business
  • Ability to react strategically in customer settings, "listen" and discern client business needs
  • Ability to lead and collaborate on pre-sales efforts to define complex technical solutions, assist with RFPs, deliver proposals and expand business with existing clients
  • Demonstrated understanding of web best practices and standards along with understanding of web development lifecycle
  • Ability to interact with clients of all levels and industry backgrounds, from the CEO to administrative support staff
  • Proven ability to set and manage client expectations
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively, meeting all deadlines
  • Intellectual curiosity and continual desire to learn

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree with preference given to Business Administration, MIS, CIS or related field
  • Experience with complex sales cycles solutions and selling to senior management (C-level, VP, Director, IT Managers, etc.) in medium to large enterprises
  • 5-10 years related experience in technology services, interactive agencies (including web, mobile, data development and strategic consulting projects) or other client services organizations
  • A solid knowledge of web design, application development and programming will contribute greatly to your success in this position
